 Dated: 09-24-2010

When you are looking for the best HR executive job, you must know where to look and how to prepare yourself, especially if you are looking to land your very first HR executive job. You may have heard that it is easier to find a job when you currently have a position with another company. When you have an income already you can be selective in your job choice, and not be so desperate with the first job that shows up.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics has predicted the number of openings in human resources to jump up 22 percent through the year 2018. Obviously, the more human resource generalists' positions are opening, the more HR executive jobs will be available and a demand of people will be looking to land a job in this field. This means that if HR executive work is something you intend to pursue you need to make sure you are the most qualified person applying for the position.

Once you have been working in human resources for several years, it may be time to set your sights on HR executive work. Many times if you are very good at what you do, a company is reluctant to move you up because if they do they will be losing a valuable asset. If the company cannot get past that, then you may need to look somewhere else for HR executive work. Sometimes you may be working in a company and doing HR executive work, but not getting the pay or the recognition. This is when it is time to sit down with your employer and ask for a raise. If they refuse to move you up or give you the title, then it may be time for another position at another company.

Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone by applying for HR executive employment outside of your current company. You should always be looking for newer and better jobs.

Regardless if you decide to remain with your current employer or seek other HR executive career, you need to make sure your resume is up to par. Without a professional and compelling resume it will be hard to land your dream job.

If you are looking for executive HR openings and are stuck try looking on small private job boards. These smaller ferns are more reliable and give you a change to actually get looked at. Some of the bigger ferns will overlook a lot of people simply because they do not have enough time to look at everyone’s resumes signing up for the job.
