Customer Contact Center

Work at a customer contact center involves considerable interaction with customers, which may include routine questions and requests or specific questions about specialized services. In most customer contact center jobs, the representatives are expected to follow up with the customer until a query is answered or an issue resolved.
For instance, some customer contact center jobs involve helping people select a product or service that best suits their needs. The customer contact center representatives are also expected to maintain records of transactions and update databases. However, job responsibilities differ depending on the industry the customer contact center deals with.
Since on-the-job training is an integral part of a customer contact center, telephone calls may be taped and reviewed by supervisors in order to ensure that company policies and procedures are being followed and to mark out the specific areas of improvement the representative needs to be trained on.
A customer contact center job requires excellent communication and persuasion skills. Creative problem solving skills and experience working in fast-paced work environment are a plus. Proficiency with Windows-based applications and a college degree also offer an advantage.
