A software engineer is responsible for programming, designing, and editing one or more parts of a software or program. Typical responsibilities for a software engineer include writing programs; checking the programs written by self or others; providing feedback on software engineering or program related aspects; training new software engineers; meeting deadlines for software being made; coordinating with graphic designers, web developers, and sales division; visiting clients\' office or city in order to get client requirements; working onsite if the project demands; and handling client feedbacks and editing the program accordingly. A software engineer typically reports to an IT director.
A software engineer should have a degree in engineering, preferably in the area of computer science or information technology. Strong familiarity with programming languages like C++, JAVA, C#, ASP.net, PHP, or HTML may be required. Excellent academic credentials are essential.
