Survey Party Chief - Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc.
Gainesville, VA ADDITIONAL LOCATIONS: n/a PRIMARY LOCATIONS:VA, Gainesville, 5300 Wellington Branch Drive, Suite 100, 20155 REQUISITION ID:162663 POSITION OVERVIEW Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company, is looking for an experienced Survey Party Chief to join our Gainesville, Virginia team. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in field surveying practices and techniques, as well as experience leading a field survey crew. JOB DUTIES Primary responsibilities of the position include leading a field crew, keeping accurate notes and sketches, coordinating projects and managing associated data, establishing site control, and maintaining client relationships. Projects include topography, construction stake-out and as-builts, bathymetric surveys, and wetland and stream surveys Candidate must be able to perform in a fast-paced environment with quick turnarounds, be able to problem solve and communicate effectively, and be willing to learn and take on new tasks. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: *3 years of progressive field surveying experience *Extensive experience with modern survey methods and equipment *Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook *Ability to prioritize and multi-task with respect to projects on a daily basis *Ability to allocate time and resources appropriately to meet project deadlines *Willingness to work overtime regularly *Ability to work safely and independently in the outdoors under a wide range of conditions and weather conditions *Strong attention to details while maintaining consistent workflow *Ability to work under minimal supervision and resolve issues independently based on project/company standards *Willingness/ability to expand knowledge through training *Excellent oral and written communication skills *Willingness to regularly travel regionally to support projects outside the Washington D.C. metropolitan area *Valid Driver's License PREFERRED: *College Diploma or Certificate/Degree a plus *Experience with Leica GPS, Data Collection, and Robotics *ISA Certified Arborist *Experience with UAS ADDITIONAL INFORMATION WHAT WE OFFER:* *Paid time off and paid holidays *Opportunities for advancement *All job specific equipment and safety gear provided *401(k) retirement savings plan with a company match *Employee-owned company and discounted stock purchase options *Group Health Plan *Employee Referral Bonus Program: Send-A-Friend *The Davey Tree Family Scholarship for children of employees *Charitable matching gift program *All listed benefits available to eligible employees.
