Field Supervisor Archeologist - Richmond, VA
Richmond, VA Requisition Number: 131766 Company Name: WSSI Service Line: 1WSS - WSSI Employment Type: Regular Job Type: Full Time Education Level Required: Masters Work Experience Required: 3 - 5 years Travel Expectations: Up to 25% Thunderbird Archeology, a division of Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., is seeking qualified applicants to fill full-time permanent Field Supervisor Archeologist positions in our Gainesville, Virginia, Richmond, Virginia, and Virginia Beach, Virginia offices. The pay rate for these positions is competitive and dependent on experience with opportunities for advancement. Responsibilities will include: *Management of archeological fieldwork including Phase I, II, and III excavations, archeological cemetery delineations, and archeological recovery of human remains *Ensuring work quality and adherence to schedule and budget for diverse archeological projects from field survey to report production *Preparation of draft plans and reports *Conducting archeological research *Assisting with proposals and interacting with clients, agency staff, and contractors Minimum qualifications include: *An advanced degree in Archeology, or a closely related field and at least one (1) year of experience in the management of archeological field projects *Ability to work independently and with a team *Willingness to travel (per diem and lodging will be provided on projects more than approximately 90 miles from the office) *Physical ability to perform rigorous fieldwork in all settings and weather conditions *Possession of a valid driver's license *Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Experience/Qualifications: *At least three (3) years of experience in the management of archeological field projects in the Mid-Atlantic or Southeastern region *Applied knowledge of federal, state, and local cultural resource laws and regulations *RPA We are proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
