Assistant Director of Athletic and Facility Operations


Facilitate, supervise and evaluate the daily activities of the Athletic & Fitness Center and Dragon Athletic Complex in accordance with the policies and procedures established by the College. Academic eligibility and compliance of student athletes will be a major responsibility. Serve in the capacity of a coach as defined by the Athletic Director and perform all duties associated with the program in keeping with College and National Junior College rules and procedures. Serve as a liaison for senior administration in terms of Center usage and additional responsibilities of the Athletic Director as designated. Will serve as the college representative for the JUCO conference and Region 20 in Athletic Director's absence or with consent.
Other Duties:
Responsible for the facilitation of training and supervision of the coaches.
Provides final approval of staffing schedules to ensure proper coverage for all activities.
Will serve as the lead in compliance and eligibility for new and returning student athletes for the NJCAA. Manage arising issues regarding eligibility in the NJCAA. Serve as a liaison for part-time coaches and the records and registration office. Assist with the preparation of eligibility documentation for the NJCAA and upon clearance with the Athletic Director input eligibility through the online digital NJCAA software.
Provide input for the selection of equipment and supplies for athletics and the Center.
Coordinates and manages the facility usage for internal and external users. Initiates the invoicing for the external users with finance and maintains payment records.
Provides budget and facility usage reports as needed.
Assist the Athletic Director with the development and implementation of athletic offerings for the College.
Assume responsibilities in absence of Athletic Director.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Sports Management or related field with 3-5 years of related experience required.
Master's Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Sports Management or related field is preferred.
Coaching experience preferred.
Familiarity with college procedures and NJCAA athletic rules and publications.CPR, First Aid and AED certification (training provided)
Ability to obtain CDL license (training provided)
Ability to acquire a county Pool Operator license.
Knowledge of standard computer operations, Windows environment, email and Internet.
Knowledge of fitness and athletic equipment.
Familiarity with college procedures and NJCAA athletic rules and publications.
