Analyst - Investor Relations


The Kinross Corporate Head Office is located in downtown Toronto and supports Kinross' operations and projects worldwide. Corporate functions include Finance, Procurement, Health & Safety, Human Resources, IT, Investor Relations, Exploration, Geology and Mine Planning, among others.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Applies insights to the aid in design and development of IR processes, practices, and methodologies. The role meets operational or financial objectives by providing timely analysis for strategic management decisions. Responsible for the preparation and delivery of materials to external audiences to promote the company and accurately portray key communications. Represents Kinross during institutional investor meetings; responsible for replies to retail investor inquiries. Plans investor conferences and non-deal roadshows; organizes and participates in meetings at various mine sites.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
TO SUPPORT THE INVESTOR RELATIONS TEAM IN CONVEYING KINROSS' MESSAGING WITH INVESTORS AND EQUITY ANALYSTS

*Helps maintain PowerPoint presentations for external audiences and assists with their delivery to various investors or sell-side analysts *Responsible for the Investor Relations section of the website, including updating trading metrics on a monthly basis, reviewing/revising messaging from announcements or quarter results, and updating the Analyst Coverage section as necessary *Responsible for the targeting list for Kinross' annual Shareholder Engagement program; creates and oversees the collaboration between Corporate Responsibility, Legal and Human Resources to create a cohesive presentation that is delivered and presented to participating shareholders *Oversees the preparation of materials by the Investor Relations Executive Assistant for the Senior Leadership Team in advance of investor meetings, conferences, and roadshows, including investor profiles, meeting schedules, travel schedules, etc. *Plans organizes and manages site visits for the investor and analyst community; works with other Kinross departments to collect and prepare relevant information to be shared with external audiences during the visit *Reviews documents prepared by other departments before their release to external audiences, including the Operational, Legal, Corporate Responsibility and Communications teams

PREPARES MATERIALS RELATED TO THE COMPANY'S QUARTERLY RESULTS AND ENSURES QUALITY AND ACCURACY FOR THE EXECUTION OF THE RELEASE, INCLUDING:

*Creates the quarterly Investor Relations report for presentation to the CEO and Board of Directors; *Helps to create and manage changes to the conference call webcast PowerPoint slide deck; *Creates and manages changes to a reference document for the Chief Technical Officer's use during the analyst conference call; reviewing the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer's reference document; *Assists with the creation of a list of potential questions and answers;  *Organizes a group of senior managers that provide information to the Senior Leadership Team from a backup support room during the analyst conference call; *Creates a summary of operations, costs, and comparative analysis documents for use by the Investor Relations team; *Manages the results conference call event setup with the relevant external vendor; *Manages the staging and posting of quarterly materials on various sections of the website; *Summarizes and analyzes results;  *Supports the team on pre-and post-quarter analyst and investor calls with relevant data; *Reviews peer results to highlight recurring industry themes and market reaction;  *Reviews and provides comments on the release documents from Finance; and *Oversees the IR Executive Assistant with their work on the creation and distribution of the Quarterly Report for mailing to shareholders and for posting on the Kinross website
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
*University degree in business, mining, communications or finance/accounting *1-5 years of related work experience or equivalent *The ability to communicate effectively is essential *Good working knowledge of all major business software programs, including proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel *An understanding of financial statements, capital markets, and investment practices an asset
