General Maintenance Supervisor
Round Mountain is an open-pit mine located in Nevada, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world. The mine uses conventional open-pit mining methods and processes ore by mill and heap leach. The Round Mountain Phase W Project is now in production, with first gold poured in May 2019. JOB DESCRIPTION Under the general supervision of the General Foreman, the incumbent supervises a crew of mechanics, carpenters, operators the goal is to ensure a safe, efficient and productive work environment. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Assign crews and equipment to specific tasks in order to meet daily maintenance goals and assures that the area is safe for mechanics and other employees to work. 2. Supervise crew activities during shifts to ensure safe and efficient accomplishment of assignments. 3. Develop crew skills to levels of maximum efficiency and safety. 4. Works with Maintenance planer to ensure that all parts, special tools and equipment necessary to complete a planned task are available and accounted for before the job commences. 5. Coordinate with Mine Personnel and Ancillary Personnel on repairs and maintenance to be completed. 6. Returns well-documented and completed shift paperwork in a timely manner, attend meetings as necessary. 7. Keeps in active communication with the Maintenance General Foreman, periodically update him/her on the status of work being performed. 8. Ensure that all company policies are abided by at all times, namely in the areas of health, safety and environmental protection. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 1. Create a team who places safe production first. 2. Meet Kinross Way maintenance goals. 3. The incumbent fosters team development. 4. Must show strong emphasis on Planned/Scheduled work practices. 5. Supervises employees within Kinross/RMGC policies and procedures 6. Must have strong training and communication skills 7. Must be proficient on the JDE, Microsoft Office and email systems. 8. 5 years of equipment/site maintenance experience in a mining or construction environment. 9. 3 years supervisory experience. 10. Requires valid driver's license.
