Gold Rush Summer Intern - Mechanical Engineering
The Kinross Corporate Head Office is located in downtown Toronto and supports Kinross' operations and projects worldwide. Corporate functions include Finance, Procurement, Health & Safety, Human Resources, IT, Investor Relations, Exploration, Geology and Mine Planning, among others. JOB DESCRIPTION The Engineering team is seeking an ambitious student to join our team for the summer of 2022 as part of our Gold Rush summer internship program JOB RESPONSIBILITIES *Assist project managers in the preparation of schedules, budgets, regular reports *Assist in the coordination and planning of engineering tasks *Support senior engineers in review of engineering design and documents *Assist in the preparation of reports of the company's greenhouse gas emissions (CDP) *Conduct technical and financial analysis of renewable energy technologies *Assist in evaluation of energy efficiency opportunities. This requires working with site, regional, corporate staff as well as external consultants. *Under the guidance of senior staff, prepare PowerPoint presentations for Executive management *Conduct analysis of energy markets (supply-demand-price-reliability) EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE *2nd or 3rd year student studying Mechanical Engineering SKILLS *Excellent attention to detail *Strong communication skills, both written and oral *Proven ability to collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds *Team player with an ability to work effectively in a team setting *Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task *Language skills in Russian, French, Arabic, Spanish or Portuguese are assets, but not mandatory.
