Community Health Nursing Supervisor
Roanoke, VA

JOB SUMMARY

Based in Roanoke, VA, our community-based health care organization encompasses a comprehensive network of hospitals, primary and specialty physician practices, and other complementary services. 

Direct supervisor for community health RNs, community health LPNs, and community health specialists staff. Oversees community health screening and immunization programs. Collaborates with Community Health and Outreach management to ensure appropriate staffing for events and community health improvement initiatives. Responsible for entering and reporting outcomes.  Manages and signs-off on staff clinical, program competencies, and compliance requirements. Defines, establishes, prepares, revises/maintains, and supports processes, policies, and procedures for use during events and programs staffed by community health and outreach staff.  Evaluates performances and initiates personnel actions such as merit increases, promotions, mentoring, coaching and/or disciplinary action. 

Serves as clinical nursing liaison between the Community Health and Outreach department and other **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** departments, hospitals, and service lines. Collaborates internally and with community-based organizations to align initiatives that improve the health of the communities we serve.  Represent **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** through positive interactions with the community and media. Provide timely, accurate information to increase awareness of health issues and injury prevention. Promote programs and services offered by Community Health & Outreach as well as our organizational and community partners

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Nursing required.  

EXPERIENCE: 5-7 years in a public/community health education position. 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATION: Registered Nurse required. Virginia Driver's license.  Basic Life Support certification required

OTHER MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Well-organized and motivated.  Proficient at multi-tasking and working with minimal direction.  Productive team member with leadership skills.  Ability to educate clients of any age or SES level on community health education. Proficient in written and verbal communication.  Proficient in Microsoft Office applications highly desirable. Job often requires working outside **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** facilities and travel to sites within the Clinic's service area.  Must provide own transportation.
