Clinical Registrar Licensed - Trauma Services - Flex Time
Christiansburg, VA JOB SUMMARY This position is located at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center (CNRVMC) in Christiansburg, VA. This position is flex time, similar to prn work. This position will support Carilion's hallmarks of services excellence and quality for all job responsibilities. As a team member of Trauma Services, Registrars are responsible for medical record analysis, data abstraction, performance improvement initiatives and overall data management specific to the trauma patient. Must perform functions consistent with the registrar requirements for Level One Trauma Center accreditation as stated in the Hospital Resource Manual and participate in activities essential for the maintenance of a Level One Trauma Center in the Commonwealth of Virginia. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Graduate of state approved paramedic or registered nursing program. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years prior prehospital patient care (i.e. EMS/paramedic) or nursing experience. Knowledgeable in Electronic Health Information Management records systems, HIM coding, or like experience is preferred. LIFE SUPPORT: N/A LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current licensure as a paramedic or registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. OTHER MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Thorough understanding of ICD-10codes; computer applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and medical records database/system; accurate keyboarding skills; strong verbal & written communication skills on a level to work actively and effectively with medical and professional staff; team building and problem solving skills.
