Nurse Practitioner - Specialty Practice - Neurosurgery
Roanoke, VA JOB SUMMARY **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** is recruiting for an experienced, neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner to join a growing team of 8 Neurosurgeons, 7 residents, and 10 ACP's. **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** Neurosurgery is a clinic-based, academic program with remarkable opportunities in teaching, research, and clinical neurosurgery. Based in the Level 1 Trauma Center Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke Virginia, the program provides neurosurgical coverage to over 1 million people in a large, rural, multi-state area. Clinical pathology is exceptionally broad, and our neurosurgeons perform procedures of all levels of complexity in all subspecialty domains. We run a highly successful ACGME accredited resident training program. Education and research activities and opportunities abound through our intimate relationships with the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute (FBRI), the Virginia Tech School of Neuroscience (VTSoN), and Virginia Tech proper. FBRI recently underwent a 90-million-dollar expansion as a part of a larger Virginia Tech-**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** Health Sciences and Technology initiative. Hours are Monday - Friday; 8- 5 with some day time, weekend call. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Licensure/Certification: Current Virginia State Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) and DEA license required, or must be eligible to obtain. AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Advanced Life Support certification required. Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with State regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Medicine. Capable of meeting credentialing or job function requirements as needed based on the requirements of the practice and of managed care payors and insurers. Other: Able to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers. Demonstrates good written and oral communication skills. Computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
