Graduate Medical Education Residency Program Manager - Emergency Medicine Residency (FT)
Roanoke, VA

JOB SUMMARY
Provides direction, leadership, and day to day management of the Emergency Medicine Residency in collaboration with the Program Director.  Communicates, facilitates, prioritizes and problem solves with administration, support staff, faculty, residents, attending physicians and others to ensure quality, efficient and cost effective accredited Medical Education services.  Committed to the provision of Medical Education in a large, tertiary care medical center.  Manages administrative support staff.

Manages day to day administration of the Emergency Medicine Residency including resource allocation, problem solving, and staff's completion of delegated duties.  Provides office management for faculty and residents.  Counsels housestaff on program policies and procedures.  Monitors work hour compliance.  Maintains current knowledge of state licensure requirements and processes licenses.  Manages extensive resident database for all current and former residents.  Plans Graduate Medical Education retreats.  Prepares annual rotation schedules and makes necessary adjustments throughout the year on the residency management database.  Plans and implements orientation program for all incoming residents in conjunction with the GME Office.
Oversees regulatory compliance by maintaining a working knowledge of the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the Residency Review Committee (RRC), and other regulations impacting residents for institutional core program requirements.  Assures appropriate documentation, provides feedback, and makes recommendations to the Senior Director of Medical Education and Program Director on an ongoing basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in related field required.  National certification from Training Administrators in Graduate Medical Education (TAGME) preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five years' experience in the area of Medical Education or previous experience in coordination and/or support of Medical Education program preferred.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR REGISTRATION: None required.

OTHER MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Medical terminology, computer knowledge (MS Office Suite).  Must be self-directed, independently functioning and detail-oriented. Effective interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills required.
