Clinical Nurse Specialist

Provides direct/indirect specialized, comprehensive care, emphasizing health promotion, disease prevention and collaborative management strategies. Provides consultation, within area of expertise, to health care team regarding complex patient care needs. *Leadership/Strategic Planning- Demonstrates a commitment to the philosophy and goals of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. *Clinical Research and evidence-based practice - Provides leadership regarding evidence -based nursing practice and integrates research into establishing patient care standards, guidelines, and protocols. *Education-Provides and promotes education for patients/families, the health care team, and the community. Interacts frequently with nursing staff, physicians, students and other members of the health care team to coordinate care. Maintains patient, staff and customer confidentiality. Maintains accessibility throughout system and in the community as a resource person. Moderate risk of exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials and combative patients. High risk, stressful environment due to demands on time from multiple sources and need to shift priorities frequently. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: . Master's Degree in Nursing required. EXPERIENCE: Two years of nursing experience in area of specialty preferred. LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current nursing licensure and specialty certification. Registration as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the state of Virginia or will obtain within six months of hire. OTHER: . Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent presentation skills.
