Hemodialysis Technician - CNRVMC - Full Time
Christiansburg, VA JOB SUMMARY This position is located at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center (CNRVMC) in Christiansburg, VA. This position is full time, working Monday-Friday, 6am-2pm. This position will support Carilion's hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities. The inpatient Hemodialysis Technician assumes responsibility for care of the dialysis patient only as it pertains to dialysis under the supervision of a RN or physician. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) Successful completion of a nationally recognized Hemodialysis Training Program EXPERIENCE: 3 years but less than 5 years (at least 3 years Dialysis experience preferred with completion of basic and advanced Dialysis Clinical Skills Lists). LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATION: Required to pass all written exams including initial exams provided during initial orientation and annual exams with a score of 80%. Demonstrate competency through written and skills test on an annual basis. Attend continuing education classes related to end stage renal disease and obtain a minimum of at least 5 hours annually. Within 18 months of employment must obtain a nationally recognized nephrology certification. OTHER MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Exposed to potentially hazardous/infectious materials, observing and complying with the safety regulations/requirements of the hospital and governmental agencies.
