OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH CASE MANAGER (RN) - EMPLOYEE HEALTH SERVICES

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Occupational Health  Nurse Case Manager utilizes physical assessment skills to evaluate employees and volunteers who have had a work-related injury/illness or exposure. This role requires a thorough knowledge of the California Workers' Compensation Labor Code, reporting requirements, OSHA determination and use of judgement in the treatment, referral, authorization for certain tests/treatments and ongoing follow up care for a claim until closure.   The Case Manager collaborates with the EHS Medical Director, Third Party Claims Administrator, treating providers, Human Resources and all department Directors.  This role may also include performing pre-hire physicals, clinical assessments, vaccinations, education, reporting to designated agencies, first aid following a work-related accident, injury, exposure or illness, opens workers compensation claims in collaboration, ergonomic evaluations and makes recommendations to avoid repetitive injuries.  This position requires consultation with the EHS Medical Director, collaboration with co-workers, department directors and Human Resources. Performs other duties as assigned. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

*Two years of experience in hospital Employee Health or occupational health setting, *knowledge of California Worker's Compensation law and previous experience in nurse case management.  *Knowledge of ergonomics and infection control as it relates to hospital employees.  *Knowledge of California Labor Code, CAL-OSHA, OSHA Log.  *BSN is preferred.

LICENSE REQUIRED

*Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California

CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

*BLS certificate

CERTIFICATIONS PREFERRED

*Worker's Compensation Case Manager certification
