DIRECTOR PROSPECT MANGEMENT AND RESEARCH - FOUNDATION

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director is an experienced professional, responsible for strategic visioning and overseeing the day-to-day management of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** Hospital Foundation's prospect research and philanthropic moves management program. The position plays a key role in building our donor pipeline in preparation for our upcoming comprehensive campaign, which has a working goal of $1 billion.

The Director leads a team of two direct-reports and is a strategic thought-partner collaborating closely with leadership, frontline fundraising staff, and administrative support personnel. Leveraging sophisticated research tools, robust business intelligence, and industry best practices, the Director synthesizes vast troves of data to identify new major and principal gift prospects. With a deep understanding of the donor cultivation cycle, the Director helps develop individualized strategies and pathways for meaningful engagement that lead to successful solicitations.

The Director ensures each development portfolio contains the right balance of donors and prospects and produces analytic reports appropriate to departmental needs. The Director provides insights relating to prospect management and research that help inform and guide the Foundation's activities and strategic decisions.

This position reports to the Vice President, Development Operations and Campaigns. The Director will work in a highly collaborative environment including fundraising, administrative, gift planning, events, communication, stewardship and executive staff.

Key Responsibilities include:

*PROGRAM MANAGEMENT - create and implement procedures, set priorities, oversee proactive prospect research and management, analyze and evaluate information and assist with financial forecasting. Monitor and provide recommendations for program improvements and ensure a high level of data integrity.

*PROSPECT MANAGEMENT AND TRACKING SYSTEM - maintain and refine the prospect management and tracking system design and concepts to support the management and tracking of prospects, proposals, and donors. Manages prospect and donor portfolios and facilitates review sessions that result in strategies and activities that successfully move prospects through the donor cultivation cycle. Director develops donor and prospect reports appropriate to departmental needs.

*PROGRAM AND PROSPECT ANALYSIS - leads the monitoring and analyzing of operational data to identify trends, issues and opportunities for philanthropic growth.  Director provides data-driven insights and resources that inform and guide the Foundation's strategies and activities. Through data analysis and research tools, the Director identifies new major and principal gift prospects and evaluates existing donors for increased levels of support.

*DEPARTMENT LIAISON - partners closely with frontline fundraising staff, their administrative support personnel and foundation leadership. Utilizing a variety of public and internal data sources, the Director develops reports, analysis and recommendations about potential donors and prospects.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

*Bachelor's degree required.  Master's degree preferred. Minimum seven years of professional experience in prospect management and research within health care philanthropy, higher education, or related non-profit field.
