SURGERY TECH LEAD - MEDICAL ONCOLOGY CLINIC
Newport Beach, CA Participates as a member of the surgical team under the direct supervision of an RN/Charge Nurse or Clinical Manager. Functions in the role of scrub/assist person and assisting physician and/or RN. Responsible for direct and indirect care of patients. Assists with maintenance, and care of instruments, supplies, and equipment according to the manufacturers' instructions, standards of infection prevention, and institutional policies/procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy and steps for routine or complex procedures. Describes, utilizes, and monitors clean/sterile techniques used in a procedural setting. Identifies, gathers, and prepares instruments and equipment, and specialty items for all procedures in a timely manner according to the preference card. Maintains a working knowledge of current practice issues related to the assigned field of departmental and organization standards, policies, and procedures. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: *Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Scrub Technician program or equivalent military medical core training (only GI Lab does not require this) *Minimum three (3) years of continuous experience, preferably within an ambulatory or acute healthcare environment. *Demonstrates and maintains competency as an expert in 3 or more specialties/ service lines *Organizational systems (Affinity, SMS, and PACS) *Qualified bilingual or multilingual candidates preferred LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS: *Certification as Surgical Technologist preferred |
