IT PROJECT MANAGER - EPIC - HOAG CLINIC IT

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning and execution of projects as assigned by the department leader or Sr. Project Manager. Projects may be moderately to highly complex and could involve a diverse set of components, including healthcare processes and technology, business processes and technology, and construction. The successful Project Manager must be able to quickly adapt to different sizes and types of project and must be able to communicate effectively with staff of different levels and personality types. The Project Manager also serves as a champion of project management best practices and standards throughout the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** enterprise.

The individual in this position coordinates, facilitates, and monitors project milestones and budgets for assigned projects, and coordinates and leads cross-functional teams to deliver the projects.

 

Execution includes the direct completion or the coordination of the completion of project plans (WBSs), project-level reporting, financial management/project budgeting, and all appropriate documents and Gate Review materials required under **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***'s IT PMM (Project Management Methodology) for a variety of projects including, but not limited to, new EPIC deployments, feature/function enhancements, upgrades, and technical infrastructure enhancements. The Epic Project Manager will lead matrix-style project teams including, but not limited to, technical resources, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), vendor representatives, and Business Analysts to achieve the stated goals of assigned projects.

Scope of applications or support may be for a specific module or multiple modules of Epic. Performs task analysis, long term and short-term planning, and determining needs of the project and staff.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

*BA/BS in Computer Science, Business or clinical related field *A minimum of five years' experience with appropriate applications as well as hospital operational experience in a clinical or healthcare business field *Three years' experience with direct responsibility in project management *Experience in the use of desktop software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, and MS Access *Knowledge of general Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK), project management methodologies and/or local project methodology and project management methodology
Preferred:

*Degree/concentration in engineering or business *Consulting experience *Master's Degree *Experience managing healthcare-related projects and familiarity with healthcare provider industry
IF EPIC PROJECT MANAGER

*One year of supervisory/managerial experience, including within healthcare organizations *Experience with EPIC Specific Modules preferred

CERTIFICATIONS

Preferred:

*Project management certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2) *ITIL Foundation *Epic certified in at least one clinical application
