Kroger Labs has an opening for an Electrical Engineering expert. The mission of Kroger Labs is to help create new and innovative solutions in Grocery Retail Operations and Analytics. The laboratory focuses on research, technology innovation, proof-of-concept activities, technical marketing and business development for novel technology solutions.We are seeking experts to build novel solutions for retail, specifically for IoT. The successful candidate will work on identifying opportunities for technology intervention and solve challenging real-world problems. This position is a perfect match for a visionary engineer who is passionate about empowering society and feeding the human spirit through the tremendous potential of IoT.Additional Qualifications:5 years of experience programming embedded systems.Programming skills in C/C . Preferred:Knowledge and experience developing with embedded frameworks and SDK.Knowledge and experience of IoT protocols or wireless mesh networks is a plus.Passion and ability to pursue customer-driven research, and present outcomes to various stakeholders/ customers.Be a strong team player-collaborate with a broad team of researchers and developers with diverse backgrounds.Experence designing and working with hardware.Experience with printable circuit design is a plus.

 POSITION SUMMARY
Ensure that engineering efforts are compliant with stakeholder expectations and all relevant national and international rules and regulations are met. This position will lead and implement engineering projects and continue the long term support throughout the production and manufacturing processes. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS *Serve as technical lead for several simultaneous engineering projects *Lead and implement detailed design and sizing calculations and verify and check the design done by others holding to the Code of Ethics for Engineers *Establish a project schedule and recommend appropriate staffing needs for completion of the projects' tasks *Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to validate all design elements *Review, check and approve any product design documentation produced by the department *Ensure appropriate engineering methods are applied within the project discipline stream *Consult and provide guidance within the Electrical Engineering team *Develop methods and procedures to improve the Electrical Engineering team's efficiency *Act as a mentor to junior mechanical and electrical engineers *Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering *5 years experience as an electrical engineer *System level engineering experience with a focus on digital/analog hardware design *Strong analytical and problem solving skills *Microsoft Word/Excel experience *Effective planning and organizational skills *Strong leadership skills and ability to achieve objectives through others *Strong written and oral communication skills *Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization *The ability to travel independently as required (10%)

DESIRED PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION *NCEES EIT National Council of Engineers and Survey - Engineering and training *Experience with Radio Frequency design elements
