GENERAL SUMMARY:  The Category Manager takes ownership of a specific area of business and drives a more strategic view online across end to end to deliver on the financial objectives. The Category Manager will partner with the Sr Director of Category Management to develop and execute a data driven, customer focused insights that drive the merchandising strategies for assortment, pricing, customer experience and marketing. They will facilitate and accelerate the usage of Digital data within Merchandising and Planning teams to better capitalize on uniqueness of the Digital channel.

REPORTS TO: Sr Director Category Management

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Proactively identify category issues and opportunities, proposing solutions that drive business opportunities and minimize liabilities.
*Leverage data and insights to analyze performance and understand trends to drive assortment and business decision making
*Act as the voice of the consumer, and use knowledge and data to anticipate consumer behavior to assist in the execution of product and category strategies.
*Monitor competitiveness of category inputs across pricing, assortment, and overall customer-facing experience for assigned category leveraging market analysis tools
*Collaborate with Customer-facing teams (Marketing, Site Merchandising and Product Management) to influence category experiences (traffic mix, product merchandising, overall journey, and overall merchandising strategies on cross-sell, upsell
*Collaborate with Dropship team on overall business mix and how to best leverage Dropship to drive long-term category growth
*Stay apprised of competitive trends across retail and launches of new categories and vendors.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

*Ability to deal with constant changes and quick turnaround times in a fast-paced environment
*Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.High-level expertise in all Microsoft Office Suite tools, and experience with advanced analytics and/or reporting tools (e.g. Tableau, R, SQL, Adobe Analytics) preferred
*Must possess strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
*Superior analytical and quantitative skills, comfortable with complex financial data
*Influencing skills across multiple internal teams to ensure actions are executed
*Proven track record collaborating successfully with internal and external partners
*Highly polished communication skills - speaking, writing, and presenting

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE:  

*4 years in Category Management or a blend of Category Management and Merchandising
*Digital experience

 

EDUCATION:
*Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
