Sr. Manager, Parcel Transportation

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Sr. Manager of Parcel Transportation is an individual with a strong level of expertise and vision in the ecommerce space. They will have a skillset in managing multi-carrier solutions across a broad network of DC's and Stores. Responsible for ongoing performance while driving excellence within transportation for multisite distribution and fulfillment operations. This associate will achieve key strategic initiatives and deliverables for Parcel Transportation in support of the DBI business.

REPORTS TO:  Sr Director Transportation & Logistics

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Management position responsible for designing strategic and tactical models to support future required capabilities and capacities related to parcel transportation *Manage $120MM parcel spend across DSW, Camuto, and DSW Canada *Build cross functional partnerships between DBI Transportation, stores, and leadership to ensure proper network planning and to achieve defined click to porch metrics *Build partnerships with the distribution center and fulfillment center operations teams to identify opportunities to fully leverage outbound trailers and to ensure proper flow to the carrier network *Work with strategic supply chain network models to understand cost and service tradeoffs *Leads our 3rd party data analytics team to ensure proper interpretation of data needs *Work closely with cross functional business groups across the company to gather data, conduct analyses, validate business assumptions and effectively communicate findings/recommendations *Provides near and longer term strategic and tactical planning for North American parcel transportation network including distribution centers, drop ship, fulfillment center, and ship from stores *Perform complex analyses to support logistics and network wide projects *Responsible for carrier operations at both the EC / WC Fulfillment centers, drop ship, Camuto, and all stores *Transportation planning for carrier facilities to ensure flow is executed in an effective and timely manner *Partner with the data analytics team and our carrier network to identify pinch points and opportunities to get faster in the network *Understand and leverage parcel TMS functionality for proper rate shopping against carrier base. Update based on strategy, pricing, etc *Identify and evaluate additional regional, same day, and next day carriers that can be leveraged in the Parcel TMS *Budgetary responsibility for financial modeling / build out of annual forecasted spend and work with finance partners on variances *Coordinate, interpret, and publish brand forecasts to carriers *Identify technology needs to drive planning and execution capabilities *Manage special projects and activities *Design and recommend training needs for direct report(s)

REQUIRED SKILLS:

*Ability to build strong relationships with key business partners and carriers with the ability to influence in a collaborative manner while ensuring implementation of world-class processes *Will understand multisite commerce and direct to consumer transportation (D2C) systems *Experience with parcel distribution required *Experience in leadership managing a transportation team preferred *Experience within multisite transportation and supply chain activities *Understanding of retail, commerce, and drop ship businesses *Heavy transportation solutions working with high volume and small parcel packages *Knowledge of carrier-provided transactional data & reporting preferred *Adept at working with a vision of tools and techniques to optimize a complex supply chain/logistic network for parcel transportation *High level of analytical skills *Ability to communicate and plan effectively with cross-functional business leaders and service providers, while employing strong strategic business skills. *Solid financial acumen skills *Thorough knowledge of systems and computer operations; exposure to analytical software is helpful. *Travel could be up to 10%.

EXPERIENCE:

*Minimum eight (8) years of transportation experience

EDUCATION:

*Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or Logistics
