Manager, Digital IT Quality Assurance (Open to Remote)

The Designer Brands IT team is a fast-paced team that thrives on challenges where we put the customer first and build solutions to support that sentiment.  The IT Digital Team is growing and knows no bounds as we have moved to a fully remote team and encourage growth through our network.  This team and position are looking to be filled with the best talent out there and excited about this continued evolution of the team.

As the MANAGER, IT DIGITAL QUALITY ASSURANCE, you will lead a team of cross functional quality analysts as they validate software to meet retail business objectives in an iterative and face-paced environment.  Maintain a close partnership with development teams to help them architect and implement their applications with traditional QA, however new ways of validating traditional solutions are always encouraged.  Building and maintaining teams that focus on the principals of QA availability, performance, reliability, and validation. 

An important role of this position is to build strong relationships with your IT and business partners.  Additionally, you will perform leader-based tasks including managing the volume of work, team growth through recruiting activities, work performance, coaching, mentoring and team development.  You will be responsible for delivering knowledge and experience of the Quality Assurance domain, including development and implementation of QA processes, frameworks, and test data thereby enhancing the platform's release pipeline.

REPORTS TO:  Director, Digital IT

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Build, manage, and continuously develop a highly technical and high functioning staff of QA and reliability engineers contributing to the overall software development lifecycle at DBI with a focus on developing systems that validate software and systems (web, mobile, API, config management, infrastructure) against quality metrics autonomously and efficiently *Partner with the QA automation team to ensure maximum coverage of the systems is maintained and increased over time *Research and present new technology trends, influencing peers and leadership toward adoption, driving accountability of the achievement of roadmap milestones *Help improve test coverage through the design and implementation of improved testing processes and toolsets *Design the intake process of work into the QA team ensure the proper transition of manual test cases in a prioritized order *Lead Teams Responsible for:

*Creating and maintaining test data to drive the test scripts *Defining reusable components, frameworks, common schemas, standards, and tools, influencing their usage across teams - Contributing to the Shared Pipeline Library with Platform Engineers *Performing maintenance on test plans and tooling when new features are introduced *Participating in user story analysis and identifying requirement and acceptance criteria gaps *Working cross-functionally with QA Application SMEs, software developers, platform engineers, and other project team members on a shared vision *Contributing to the software development lifecycle by way of providing feedback and recommendations to application development teams that allow for ease of QA execution

*Mentor and provide technical oversight and guidance to team members and cross-functional partners, improving their skills, knowledge of our systems, and their ability to get things done *Participate in industry groups to gain visibility to trends and influence future direction

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

*Proven experience working and prioritizing across relationships with support, services, product, and engineering teams *Proven experience leading a team of QA engineers thru validation of web, iOS, and Android apps *Experience contributing to or leading QA engineering practices within an Agile environment ensuring application and system quality quickly and efficiently *Ability to take technical and/or business requirements and translate them into detailed blueprints to assist in creating automated test cases *Measure and report progress against targets for improvement in cited areas *Knowledge of various testing types (unit, functional, integration, systems, etc.) *Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills *The role requires ability to prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of identifying opportunities and creating efficiencies. QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE:

*7 years' experience in the quality assurance space of digital products, websites, and apps *5 years' experience in a leadership role over a team of quality analysts *Experience with any defect tracking systems, test management systems, version control systems. *Expertise in analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex issues *Experience with modern collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

*Experience in Retail highly preferred

EDUCATION:

*Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
