JOB TITLE: SR. Merch Analyst (Top Brand and Market Analytics)

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Sr. Merchandise Analyst is a seasoned expert who partners with all functional areas in the enterprise by leading and developing high-impact, influential analysis utilized for go-forward direction, strategic business decisions and insight into current and future trends. The scope of work includes leading short term and long-term analysis, key initiative reporting, ad-hoc analysis, and business process development/support. The Sr. Merchandise Analyst collaborates as a creative thought partner who initiates intentional, thoughtful, and timely analysis that supports and guides the strategy of DBI.  The Sr. Merchandise Analyst is responsible for the design, development, testing, training, and maintenance of the various supply chain/merchandising/reporting systems, with a distorted focus to tableau (the Merchant Workbench tool and NPD). Seasonal in-depth analysis for the Top Brands will be coupled with ad hoc requests, supporting internal metrics that are combined with market analytics and customer insights to tell a holistic story and help drive business decisions.

REPORTS TO Title of Manager (not person's name): Manager, Market Data Analytics

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Be a leader amongst peers *Collaborate with key business partners to identify and develop ad-hoc analysis *Influence and interpret analytic question(s) to be answered *Understand customer requirements and data availability *Provide succinct, audience-adapted analysis, with a distorted focus on Top Brand insights and analytics *Consistently supports aggressive timelines for deliverables, related to Top-to-Top meetings, market meetings, seasonal hindsight's & buy prep. *Troubleshoots moderately complex problems and recommends appropriate action *Act as a superuser and liaison for the Merchant Workbench (MWB) pilot, starting in Q1 2022, and for the business roll out. *Develop and present analysis supporting strategic initiatives and/or big idea questions *Engage intellectual curiosity to proactively meet business needs and answer analytical questions *Sought by business partners to collaborate on cross-functional projects/analysis *Actively participates in the business to gain insight into the trends and opportunities *Make recommendations based on knowledge, expertise and business acumen for improvements and alternative solutions *Involved in projects as a contributor and can lead small projects *Comfortable training others in a classroom setting

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

*Highly curious, with strong analytical skills including application of retail mathematics/statistics *Knowledge of advanced analytics *Experience preparing presenting complex data and analysis to C-level executives *Ability to translate conclusions from individual contributor to executive audiences *Strong presentation skills including the organization, summarization, and presentation of complex data to diverse audiences *Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, conduct responsibilities with urgency and a high level of accountability *Self-motivated, takes initiative and is curious, driven, flexible, and adaptable *Strong organizational skills & ability to manage multiple tasks/projects at once *Highly collaborative with effective personal communication *History of developing creative solutions to reporting needs *Expertise with Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Tableau or similar reporting solution *Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE:

*7 years' experience in Microsoft Office including Excel *3 years' experience in MicroStrategy, Tableau or similar application *Previous experience in retail a plus, but not required *Previous experience in an analytical role or project management required

EDUCATION:

*B.S. degree in Business, Mathematics, Economics, or related field required.
