Sr. Windows Systems Engineer (Open to Remote)
Columbus, OH The ideal candidate will provide Windows system engineering and cloud administration (Azure and GCP) and will have a strong technical background with experience working on medium to large scale Active Directory, Azure AD, Office 365 environments (15,000 users). The candidate will maintain the following systems Exchange on-prem exchange hybrid servers, Exchange online (mail flow, DKIM, SPF and DMARC) and O365 Defender administration. In addition to SharePoint Online and One Drive O365 cloud system administration, the candidate will need to possess Microsoft Windows server administration and engineering of 2012-2022 Microsoft Servers. Knowledge in DNS & DHCP administration, Group Policy, Microsoft SCCM (Current Branch) and Microsoft SCOM is required, leveraging Microsoft Graph API is a bonus. We are open to remote candidates based in the continental United States for this opportunity. REPORTS TO: Manager, Enterprise Services ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *Solves highly technical and complex incidents/business problems and/or drives efforts to resolve incidents. *Develops/designs integrated solutions within a broad technical context. *Reviews documents of others; looks to automate processes and create efficiencies. *Serves as an expert on projects. *Establishes successful working and support relationships with cross-functional leaders and staff as well as third party vendors. *Mentors and transfers knowledge to the other team members of the Enterprise Systems Team. *On-call duty rotation and periodic after-hours work will be required and is shared throughout the group. *Provide level 3 server support. *Conduct OS-level and application patch planning, coordination, and execution to promptly remediate security flaws as they are discovered. *Develop and maintain detailed configuration documentation that can be used by Enterprise Systems and Operations team members. REQUIRED SKILLS: *Knowledge and understanding of Windows performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and networking technologies. *Strong team skills, communication and drive to ensure constant improvement in service, capabilities, and results. *Applicant must have excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. *Good understanding of ITIL/Service Management processes. *Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Azure certifications beneficial COMPETENCIES: SETTING GOALS - Creates and follow effective plans. QUALIFICATIONS: EXPERIENCE: *5 years engineering and managing an enterprise Active Directory and Azure AD *Proven hands-on experience in Microsoft Active Directory and Azure AD configuration and administration. *Experience with the Microsoft System Center suite of products including: Configuration Manager; Operations Manager; and Azure Dev/Ops. *Proven hands-on experience in troubleshooting, managing, and maintaining Windows based systems including Server 2012, 2016, 2019 and 2022. *Experience with VMware vSphere components, including ESXi 6.5 and vCenter. *Microsoft Server vulnerability management with Qualys or similar tool. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: *Advanced Group Policy Management (AGPM) *Office 365 (AD Sync, SPO, EXO, Azure AD, Microsoft Graph API) *Active Directory & Azure AD Administration & Auditing *Azure Cloud Server administration *Azure Dev/Op Pipeline development *PowerShell scripting micro services and servers *Windows containers (development and administration) EDUCATION: *Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical experience. |
