Senior Merchandise Analyst (Open to Remote)
Columbus, OH

The SENIOR MERCHANDISE ANALYST is a seasoned expert who partners with all functional areas in the enterprise by leading and developing high-impact, influential analysis utilized for go-forward direction, strategic business decisions and insight into current and future trends. The scope of work includes leading short term and long-term analysis, key initiative reporting, ad-hoc analysis, business process development/support and potentially a direct report. The Sr. Merchandise Analyst collaborates as a creative thought partner who initiates intentional, thoughtful, and timely analysis that supports and guides the strategy of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** We are open to remote candidates based in the continental United States for this opportunity.

REPORTS TO: Director, Central Planning & Merchandise Operations

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Be a leader amongst peers *Take an active role in guiding / mentoring associate and/or analyst team members *Expertise across multi-disciplines within the area *Collaborate with key business partners to identify and develop ad-hoc analysis *Influence and interpret analytic question(s) to be answered *Understand customer requirements and data availability *Provide succinct, audience-adapted analysis *Develop accurate reporting and analysis on agreed timelines *Engage peers and/or supervisor to overcome obstacles to ensure timelines are met *Actively participates in the business to gain insight into the trends and opportunities *Attend cross-functional department team meetings, business reviews, category meetings, etc. *Develop and present analysis supporting strategic initiatives and/or big idea questions *Seek to be a solution partner *Engage intellectual curiosity to proactively meet business needs and answer analytical questions *Sought by business partners to collaborate on cross-functional projects/analysis *Produce assigned reporting and analysis in a timely and accurate fashion *Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Seasonal, Annual *Meets established standards for delivery time *Validates accuracy to established sources prior to distribution *Actively seeks out customer (internal) feedback to identify enhancement opportunities *Proactively makes changes to maintain delivery standards *Collaborate with key support and business partners on new processes and solutions *Participate in the development and deployment process including: *Documenting current & future state *Active participant in Quality Assurance testing prior to deployment *Make recommendations based on knowledge, expertise and business acumen for improvements and alternative solutions *Partner with supervisor and others to develop self & direct report (if applicable) *Completes self-administered training on MS Office & Business Objects *Utilizes the DSW Learning Center to enhance capabilities *Partner with Supervisor to ID appropriate classes *Develops and follows a schedule to complete necessary classes *Sets regular meetings with supervisor to review progress and supplement training

REQUIRED SKILLS:

*Highly developed analytical skills including application of retail mathematics/statistics *Knowledge of advanced analytics *Experience preparing presenting complex data and analysis to C-level executives *Ability to translate conclusions from individual contributor to executive audiences *Strong organizational skills & ability to manage multiple tasks/projects at once *Team leadership experience is a plus *Proven track record of managing multi-data sources to draw conclusions *Effective personal communication *Proficient with Microsoft Office *Experience with Business Objects or similar reporting solution *History of developing creative solutions to reporting needs

EXPERIENCE:

*5 years in corporate retail

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

*Project Management a plus *Management Experience a plus

EDUCATION:

*4-year college degree or equivalent experience
