GENERAL SUMMARY
The Store Planner is responsible for analyzing store selling patterns to determine right inventory mix needed to drive store performance (sales and profitability). Review store inventory mix and make recommendations for capacity changes based on historical relationship of regular and clearance ownership. Re-trend sales in-season, by store to better align plans with recent performance. Partner with Allocation team to ensure that stores get to their planned/forecast inventory levels on a monthly basis. Proven track record of influencing through effective communication required. Assists the Manager of Store Planning and Allocation with achieving departmental objectives as well as provide work direction/training of new team members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Analyze store performance at defined product levels and develop strategic sales and inventory plans to support specific objectives linked to the Merchandise Plan

• Prepare and participate in store planning Pre-season, Hindsight, and Monthly Merchandise Plan

• Review activities and all related prep discussions • Develop and manage bottom's up and store level plans giving consideration to store specific insight to ensure that store plans reflect the strategic direction of the sub-class, trends, and seasonal transition • Support the store planning team to ensure delivery of both team and cross-functional goals. This should include the delivery of team financial targets, the development/re-forecasting of store/sub- class plans, and conducting ad-hoc analysis focused on maximizing opportunities and minimizing risk

• Ad-hoc analysis may require communication with field to provide support on store specific needs

• Develop and manage reporting to support recommendations of store plans. This may include reporting/managing below subclass as necessary to support business strategy

• Participate in quarterly store/market visits in partnership with the store's team (Regional/District Managers), focusing on merchandise content/mix, an assessment of market opportunities/risks and an evaluation of the market(s) against current profiles

• Conduct detailed quarterly hindsight review designed to identify product opportunities or risks  within the store and make the appropriate sales and inventory recommendations to drive store performance
 
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Self-motivated and ability to work with multiple skill levels • Strong statistical/analytical skills including data retrieval, organization, presentation, and summary skills • Proficient in Excel, Data Warehouse/Business Objects and Enterprise Planning • Exposure to Data Mining tools (MicroStrategy, PA Web), Store Planning, Merchandise Planning and • JDA Allocation systems • Advanced Retail Math concepts • Knowledge of store cluster concepts • Some knowledge of capacity or fixture planning • Must be able to understand all retail financial metrics • Excellent communication & influencing skills including written & verbal with emphasis on delivery of strategy
 
EXPERIENCE:
• 5 years' experience in forecasting & analytics, 2-3 years' planning experience
 
EDUCATION:
• B.S. degree in Business or equivalent work experience
