GENERAL SUMMARY: The DC Assistant General Manager is responsible for managing the safe and efficient within the Camuto New Jersey Distribution Center. Focuses on leading a team to 40-50 associates in achieving excellence through delivery of service, productivity, and cost based on the management of people, process, and technology in a warehouse setting within the WAREHOUSE. Assists the General Manager with process improvements, operational controls, exceptions management, and clear communication across all NJDC WAREHOUSE floor operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Responsible for Operations Supervisors and direct labor across loose unit processing area(s) and alloutbound related operations for 1st shift *Demonstrates and sets expectations in-line with DBI and Camuto Group leadership competencies,strategic pillars, goals, guiding principles, and goals *Collaborate with Operations Supervisors and DC Leads to hold team accountable by addressing issues, incident, or accomplishments of direct reports *Manages safety, security, inventory, productivity, and cost/service metrics through proper KPI's and reporting *Working knowledge of all systems and material handling automation through collaboration with IT, Maintenance, & Engineering resources *Complete System competencies including planning, reporting, exceptions management and collaboration with IT & engineering resources to develop and configure systems to support operations *Identify opportunities to improve or streamline existing processes, and collaborate cross-functionally on changes, improvements, and/or resolutions *Effectively communicate through team members and with peer managers throughout the organization, especially in regards to expectations and service deliverables *Evaluate available information to address conflict and/or make difficult and timely decisions *Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to support workload requirements *Promotes safety at all times, and communicates and addresses problems/concerns, especially regarding safety, security, building control, or personnel, accordingly *Responsible for the proper handling and safe use of all Company owned property, tools, and equipment

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

*Proven business, operational planning, and negotiation skills *Knowledge and use of proper business communication etiquette, and effective verbal and written
communication skills

*Strong multi-tasking, organizational, detail, follow-up, and interpersonal skills *Familiarity with business and financial concepts *Knowledge and use of appropriate leadership and supervisory skills & techniques *Working knowledge of distribution related processes and best practices *Previous experience with appropriate systems strongly desired, including but not limited to WMS,
   automation, conveyor, and/or unit sortation

*Familiarity with Microsoft Office Word , Excel, and Outlook *Must have the ability and eagerness to work as part of a team, as well as lead others *Established comfort level with handling conflict, pressure, and uncertainty

 

EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION:

*Minimum six years of warehouse/distribution management experience OR four years of related experience with a relevant 4 year degree *Minimum three years of progressive supply chain / distribution management experience withdemonstrated ability to achieve results
