Sr Industrial Engineer

General Summary: The Sr Industrial Engineer will lead, manage and participate in a wide variety of Distribution Center/Supply Chain projects targeted at improving and managing efficiency, implementing equipment & systems, developing and improving processes and training associates.  Primary owner, developer and maintainer of distribution center labor standards, labor reporting, LMS systems and tools, and daily technical DC operations support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:    

*Learn, all aspects of an operation including multiple systemic interfaces and background interactions and use past experience to identify optimal changes to the operation and subsequent systemic requirements and lead meetings and discussions on the operational, design/equipment, and IT changes.  *Use AutoCAD to create drawings illustrating MHE changes to existing layouts and work with vendors to create budgetary costs and ROI calculations used to gain executive approval. *Create project schedules and manage multiple project vendors during the implementation to remain on schedule and on budget. *Create training documents and lead operational training groups based on changes being made. *Pulling and analyzing operational and engineering data from all DC and FC systems (WMS, WCS and  LMS systems) and related tools and reporting *Pulling and analyzing operational and engineering data from all DSW Business systems in support of DC and FC requirements.  This includes TMS, JESTA and other DSW systems.  Close coordination with DSW IT is required for all systems access. *Creating annual design data for projects based on historical volume and projecting throughput needs for conveyor and sortation systems as well as FTE hourly operational requirements. *Subject matter includes but is not limited to DC and FC production flow, production snapshots and profiles, storage data, labor usage, cost information, budgeting, purchasing and other traditional operations support requirements. *Interface with DC Operations, DSW IT application support group and LMS/WMs suppliers as required.
*Operational and engineering owner of labor management systems (LMS) and related tools, reporting, and integration/interaction with other warehouse systems. *Owner of the design, implementation and maintenance of labor tracking and reporting aspects of the WMS. *Interface with DC Operations, DSW IT application support group and LMS/WM supplier for LMS related issues. *Engineering project support for all work requiring data gathering, analysis and reporting. *Support various DC and supply chain projects including process improvements, capacity assessment and improvement, and other related activities. *Maintain excellent communication and relationships with other departments and associates and support a high performance, results oriented team environment.

Experience

*5 to 8 years related experience, preferably in a retail DC or FC environment *Operational data collection and reporting *WMS and Labor Management System experience *Process analysis, assessment and improvement and other classic I.E. Experience *MHE layout design in AutoCAD *Project management experience a requirement

Education:

*Minimum B.S. Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience required *Data acquisition and reporting tools training and/or certification desirable.
