Business Development Manager


Job Description
Reporting to the VP of Sales and Business Development, the Business Development Manager is responsible for strategic sales and targeted growth through the ongoing development of the sales pipeline. The BDM is expected to build Winncom market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing new partner/customer relationships. The ideal candidate will provide territory management and sales tactic mentoring, and a high energy level that ultimately translates into new and incremental business. The BDM holds an instrumental role in the territory’s ability to meet measurable sales objectives. He or she must therefore quickly identify and prioritize new opportunities, and track and develop sales strategies based on market trends. The new BDM will work collaboratively with management, other sales representatives, marketing, and product management to build relationships and business loyalty with both current and prospective clients.
Main Job Responsibilities:
Prospect for potential new clients through various measurable avenues and sales tactics, including cold calling.
Maintain a call log and submit weekly progress reports to senior management demonstrating account progress.
Make daily calls and in-person visits to current/prospective clients to build relationships and to foster a robust pipeline of opportunities.
Research and identify new client decision makers and develop/foster a business relationship therein.
Assist clients in reducing costs and improving profitability by having a thorough grasp on Winncom and Winncom partner products and solutions.
Maintain a thorough and expansive understanding of the telecommunications industry and trends.
Take an active part in industry trade shows and conferences.
Forecast sales targets and ensure that they are met.
Clarify customers' understanding of products and services by conducting presentations, explaining product and service features, answering questions, and offering relevant information.
Continually monitor industry competition sales tactics and regularly communicate findings to management through reports and other necessary written material.
Maintain rapport with customers by making periodic contact, investigate new opportunities, and resolve problems.
Travel – up to 40%.
Required Skills:
Excellent professional communication skills in person, on the phone, by email, in public speaking situations, or through other means
Ability to think globally and strategically while also completing day-to-day activities
Demonstrated customer service abilities and established rapport within the industry
Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, be flexible, and have a willingness to adapt to rapid change
Excellent problem solving skills
Ability to meet or exceed sales goals
Possess a proactive, enthusiastic attitude
Be a positive, creative team member
Be self-driven, professional, and organized
Required Experience:
4-year college degree in business or related field or equivalent documented experience and skills required
MBA preferred
At least 5 years in a sales management role
Prior telecommunications or wireless communications equipment sales experience preferred
