Islamorada, FL Paid Time Off Paid Holidays Flexible Spending Account Employee Assistance Program Salary: $50,000.00 to $65,000.00 /year # Paralegal Position at Law Firm in Islamorada, Florida Vernis & Bowling’s Islamorada office is seeking paralegals to join their team. The ideal candidate will have Government Law experience, although those with General Liability experience will also be considered. ## Job Duties Paralegals at Vernis & Bowling will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: - Summarizing records and court files - Scheduling couriers, court reporters, expert witnesses & other special functions - Researching sources such as statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, and public records - Drafting, preparing and performing limited reviews of legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, discovery materials, appeals and contracts - Assisting in trial preparation and discovery practices such as gathering and organizing exhibits, trial data, documents, and other materials in response to subpoenas, discovery requests, interrogatories, motions for summary judgments, etc. - Serving as a limited liaison between counsel, clients, experts, witnesses, third parties, and other outside contacts - Maintaining attorney’s calendar by planning and scheduling conferences, teleconferences, and depositions ## Requirements The ideal candidate for the paralegal position at Vernis & Bowling will have: - At least one year of prior experience with Government Law or General Liability - Proven administrative/clerical/organizational abilities - Proficiency in Office 2007 (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), as well as Outlook and Adobe Acrobat - A willingness to come to the office three times a week (hybrid availability is available) ## Benefits Vernis & Bowling offers a competitive compensation package that includes: - Medical Insurance - Voluntary Vision and Dental Insurance - Voluntary Life Insurance - Short and Long Term Disability - 401(k) - Paid Time Off - Paid Holidays - Flexible Spending Account - Employee Assistance Program ## Salary The salary for this position is between $50,000.00 and $65,000.00 per year.
