JUNIOR BUSINESS ATTORNEY

Expectations of the Junior Business Attorney

The primary responsibility of the Junior Business Attorney at our law firm is to assist the Senior Corporate Attorney with drafting, reviewing and revising business organizational documents. The Junior Business Attorney will also be involved in business deals, including asset purchase transactions, stock purchase transactions, commercial loan closings, private equity investments, etc.

Key Responsibilities

Applying knowledge of contracts to aid in legal document preparation and management
Conducting research and analyzing information to draw conclusions
Managing business deals, including asset purchase transactions, stock purchase transactions, commercial loan closings, private equity investments, etc.
Developing legal strategies and advising clients regarding their best legal interests
Serving as the principal contact between the firm and the clients
Participating in marketing and networking by attending community events
Attending continuing legal education seminars to expand knowledge in practice area(s)

Skills & Qualifications Required

J.D. from an ABA accredited law school
Excellent academic credentials
At least 2 years of corporate experience
Ability to learn and embrace new skills and best practices as the position evolves and firm needs change
Ability to work independently and effectively within a team
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse group of internal and external clients, attorneys and staff
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
Ability to identify and analyze issues, make decisions and initiate actions/solutions
Business sense and ability to think strategically
Positive attitude
Ability to develop and nurture clients’ confidence, trust, happiness with and desire for the firm’s services
Open to feedback at all levels
Demonstrated skills of poise, diplomacy and tact
Excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills
Dependable, with an unstoppable work ethic and personal integrity
Proficiency with Clio, Apple Mac iOS, G-Suite and Microsoft Office
