Director of Software Development
Boise, ID H1: Director of Software Development at Law Firm - $120,000 - $140,000/yearly salary H2: Join Our Growing Team as Director of Software Development at Law Firm Job Title: Director of Software Development Job Description: The Director of Software Development at our law firm is a crucial role responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of custom software within our organization. This individual will work closely with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), attorneys, and teams to determine feature requirements and maintain a backlog of features. They will also lead development actions, recruit and manage developers, and ensure timely release of quality software. Key Responsibilities: - Develop feature plan and timeline for software releases - Lead development of internal applications - Hire, train, and manage developer staff - Ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of projects and new features - Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand user needs - Develop and maintain rapport with stakeholders, key customers, and vendors - Maintain backlog of enhancements and prioritize based on recommendations and business needs - Research and evaluate emerging technologies and software development tools - Ensure system compliance with relevant laws and industry standards - Represent the company in meetings and conferences - Other related duties as assigned Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or relevant field - 4 years of experience managing software developers in SaaS development OR 6 years of experience in SaaS development - Strong time management and team leadership skills - Excellent communication and problem-solving skills - Ability to learn new coding languages and technologies - Extensive knowledge of coding languages and systems, ideally with Rails and JavaScript frameworks & libraries - Experience with agile methodologies Desired Qualifications: - Prior experience at a software startup - Experience with Heroku and/or other Platform as a Service tools - Experience with Github - Thorough experience with API development and systems integration - Experience developing software for the legal sector - Strong mentoring and relationship building skills Salary and Benefits: - Salary range: $120,000 - $140,000/yearly - Professional work environment - Competitive salary including bonuses - Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance - 401(k) plan with company matching - Paid flexible time off, federal holidays, and volunteer time off - Opportunity for growth and cross-training within the organization - Equal pay for all employees Work Environment/Conditions/Physical Demands: This position will be in a standard office environment with occasional weekend work, on-call availability, and overnight travel.
