Job Title: Director, Retirement Plan and Benefits Consulting
Salary: $130,000 - $140,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus program
Experience: 6 years of experience working with qualified retirement plans and in a management role

Overview:

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is seeking a Director, Retirement Plan and Benefits Consultant for their Compensation and Benefits group. The ideal candidate will have experience in technical issues regarding qualified retirement plans and a strong background in management. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a focus on teamwork and career development.

Responsibilities:

- Provide consulting expertise to clients on plan design, M&A, fiduciary responsibility, and operational compliance
- Conduct complex nondiscrimination testing for qualified retirement plans
- Assist in identifying compliance issues and drafting submissions for correction programs
- Conduct tax research and draft summaries of conclusions
- Review calculations and work product of peers for accuracy and reasonableness
- Interpreting and applying laws, regulations, and other guidance
- Manage risk, resources, staffing, and financial performance for multiple engagements
- Identify key tax issues and accurately quantify the impact
- Build client relationships and demonstrate a working knowledge of client businesses
- Conduct day-to-day management of accounts to ensure timely and accurate work product
- Supervise, develop, mentor, and motivate team members
- Manage workload and deadlines for team members
- Regularly support business development efforts

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree required, Juris Doctor, Masters in Tax, licensed CPA, or specialty certification preferred
- 6 years of experience with qualified retirement plans and in a management role
- Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
- Highly motivated and able to work as part of a team
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Ability to explain complicated concepts in an understandable manner
- Capacity to learn quickly and adapt to new situations
- Flexibility to work on multiple complex projects simultaneously

Compensation and Benefits:

- Annual base salary of $130,000 - $140,000
- Discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance
