Legal Assistant - Corporate Practice Group
Salt Lake City, UT Summary: The Law Firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Assistant to join their Corporate Practice Group. This full-time position is based in Salt Lake City, UT and offers a hybrid work schedule with a mix of in-office and remote work. Key Responsibilities: - Provide advanced legal and administrative support to attorneys, paralegals, and other team members as needed. - Manage the business intake process, including conducting adversary searches, drafting screening memos and engagement letters, and opening new files. - Prepare, revise, and format legal documents and correspondence with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. - Transcribe digital audio files to create written transcripts. - File documents electronically with federal and state courts and agencies. - Manage incoming and outgoing communication, including phone calls, mail, hand deliveries, and emails. - Maintain and manage attorney and paralegal calendars, including docketing court deadlines and scheduling meetings. - Proactively support the team and demonstrate a positive and collaborative approach to working with others. - Serve as a resource to teammates and assist with in-office tasks and projects as needed. - Liaise with courts and manage logistics for internal and external meetings. Qualifications: - High school education with 4 years of legal assistant experience or 2 years of legal assistant training plus 2 years of experience. - Advanced legal assistant skills, including accurate typing, working knowledge of personal computers, and proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. - Strong knowledge of iManage, iCompli, Intapp, Chrome River, Expert Time, and CompuLaw, or similar software. - Knowledge of federal, state, and local court rules. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. - Excellent judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Physical Requirements: - Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time. - Ability to lift, carry, and move weights of at least 10 pounds. - Ability to use repetitive wrist/hand/finger movements while working on a computer. - Ability to speak clearly and concisely. - Ability to understand the speech of others. Work Environment: - Professional office atmosphere with exposure to computer screens. - Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting or standing for prolonged periods. - Occasional off-hour meetings and events may be required. Schedule: - Hybrid work schedule with 3 days in-office and 2 days remote, with the potential for additional in-office days as needed. Salary Information: - Salary will be determined based on a candidate's education, training, experience, and the position's location and market value. - A discretionary bonus may be available based on performance.
