We are currently looking for a Counsel to join our Real Estate team and provide legal support to our business units. As a Counsel, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and support the sale and development of our unentitled real estate. You will also work closely with our Real Estate Development business unit, providing counsel on matters such as entitlements, operational issues, and sales of entitled real estate. Responsibilities: • Provide legal support for the sale of real estate, from Letter of Intent to Closing • Advise on entitlements, land use, permitting, and zoning for large, master-planned communities • Manage contracts for utilities and other infrastructure, covenants and restrictions, and property owners' associations • Assist with environmental and land management issues • Counsel and train management on compliance with applicable laws • Manage outside counsel and legal consultants Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree and J.D. from a respected law school • Admission to the bar in at least one state (Florida, Georgia, Texas, or Washington preferred) • At least 3 years of legal experience supporting real estate transactions and development • Ability to manage outside counsel and work collaboratively with business teams • Prior leadership and management experience preferred • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel • Willingness to work in Wildlight, FL at least 4 days per week At Rayonier, we are committed to maintaining a safe and inclusive work environment where all employees are valued for their unique talents and perspectives.
