Law Firm Seeks Litigation Trial Attorney in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

The ideal candidate will have experience in representing clients in court cases and other legal proceedings, such as arbitrations and mediations. This position requires a strong advocate who is familiar with court processes and has experience working with business owners and individuals. The Litigation Trial Attorney will handle commercial and complex civil litigation and be comfortable presenting cases in front of judges and juries.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Represent clients and businesses in civil litigation and other legal proceedings.
- Collaborate with clients and their advisors to develop strategies to meet specific goals.
- Draft and file briefs, motions, and other necessary judicial pleadings.
- Interview and depose witnesses and facilitate the discovery process.
- Supervise and direct mediation sessions and offer effective legal advice.
- Manage multiple clients, cases, and legal activities with varying deadlines.
- Engage in business development through professional organization involvement and writing.
- Supervise paralegals, staff, and team members as your role progresses.

Required Education and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree.
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Successful passing of the bar exam.
- Active member in good standing of the Bar or currently eligible to become licensed to practice law in South Dakota.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience, with a strong interest in litigation.
- Strong work ethic, drive, keen attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a small team environment.

Preferred Experience:

- 7 years of specific litigation/trial experience.
- Excellent academic and professional credentials.

Physical Requirements:

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
