This position will also offer legal advice on complex matters and contribute to the management of partnering relationships with internal clients. Job Responsibilities: - Manage high exposure disputes and litigation, including trials and appeals - Provide legal advice on complex matters such as conflicts, discovery, medical treatment, and more - Appear in state courts and before Workers Compensation Division administrative law judges - Conduct depositions and other discovery of witnesses - Independently create and present legal defense strategies - Negotiate settlement of workers compensation claims - Conduct legal research and prepare written opinions - Contribute to the management of partnering relationships with internal clients Requirements: - Juris Doctor Degree, licensed in Illinois and Missouri - Minimum of 7 years of experience in insurance law and/or workers' compensation law - Strong understanding of legal principles and litigation guidelines - Ability to manage complex legal issues and provide sound legal advice - Excellent communication, negotiation, and research skills - Experience with depositions, trials, and appeals - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Proficient in Microsoft Office and other legal software Salary Information: - Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications - Hybrid work model - work remotely and/or in the office - Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and more Join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of others while growing your career with confidence.
