Law Firm Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Mid-Senior Litigation & Dispute Resolution Associate to join our leading and dynamic L&DR practice at our law firm in Amsterdam. The ideal candidate will have an interest in and/or experience in contentious regulatory matters and a strong desire to make a career in this field. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, analytical, and enthusiastic lawyer to work on challenging cases with a cross-border element and be a part of a close-knit and driven team operating at an international top level.

Key Responsibilities:

- Advising clients in contentious situations and representing them in litigation or negotiations.
- Drafting and reviewing clear and well-researched legal documents.
- Finding creative solutions for clients' legal issues.
- Conducting effective research and providing sophisticated advice on complex legal matters.
- Ensuring legal compliance and addressing risks.
- Proactively considering and addressing a client's legal, strategic, and reputation risks.
- Expanding legal knowledge and staying up to date with technical expertise.
- Utilizing client focus initiatives and monitoring service levels.
- Collaborating with Knowledge resources and participating in Knowledge initiatives for the firm.
- Managing matters with discipline, including timely timesheet submission and conflicts clearance processes.
- Utilizing Best Delivery tools such as legal tech tools and legal project management.
- Building and developing client relationships, pitching for new work, and participating in business development activities.
- Educating and training junior team members.

Qualifications:

- Approximately 3-6 years of experience as a lawyer in L&DR.
- Interest in or experience with contentious regulatory matters, such as corporate criminal law, administrative law, financial regulatory law, investigations, sanctions, and export controls.
- Strong academic background and Dutch law qualification.
- Excellent drafting and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a varied workload.
- Excellent English language skills.
- Strong technical skills and comfort with researching and applying complex areas of law.
- Passion for the law and a desire to excel in the profession.
