The PCAOB is a nonprofit organization established by Congress to oversee the audits of public companies in order to protect investors and further the public interest in the preparation of informative, accurate, and independent audit reports. The organization is currently seeking a Fall 2024 Investor Advocate Intern to support their mission of investor protection and audit quality.

Role Summary:

As an Investor Advocate Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain a broad overview of the PCAOB's engagement with investors and investor advocates. Your role will involve conducting economic and legal research, assisting with planning for OIAD related meetings and events, and supporting various investor conferences.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct economic and legal research to support OIAD work
- Assist with planning for OIAD related meetings and events
- Assist with preparing responses to inquiries from external parties
- Perform other duties and special projects as needed

Qualifications:

- Master’s level college student or current enrollment at an accredited law school
- Interest in advancing investor protection and the public interest
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to organize and meet deadlines
- Willingness to work as a team member
- Ability to be flexible, work independently and be self-motivated
- Dependability a must

Compensation:

- Undergraduate students: $23.00/hour
- Graduate students: $28.00/hour
- Ph.D./JD students: $36.00/hour

Hybrid Work Option:

- Staff will be assigned to one of the following locations: Washington, DC (Headquarters); Ashburn, VA; Irvine, CA; Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; Denver, CO; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Tampa, FL; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; New York, NY; Charlotte, NC; Philadelphia, PA; Dallas, TX; or Houston, TX
- Staff can choose to live and work from anywhere within the United States
- Required to commute to assigned office or location for occasional meetings or gatherings
- Business travel is reimbursable, not including commuting costs
