Oklahoma City, OK To learn how to apply for a position using the Career worklet, please review this quick reference guide (**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. 2024 Summer Intern (Legal) - Remote Opportunity at Leading Transportation Company - Paid internship opportunity with a leading transportation company - Work remotely from the comfort of your own home - Gain hands-on experience in the legal department of a corporate organization - Develop problem-solving, analysis, and public speaking skills through participation in projects and business meetings Role Responsibilities: - Conduct research and compile information on policy, sustainability, and industry/association items - Categorize legislative and regulatory actions and monitor their active status - Manage correspondence and requests from customers and internal teams - Assist with managing ESG requests and questionnaires - Benchmark sustainability reporting and disclosures of peer companies - Identify and map out opportunities for association engagement - Build and maintain a database of internal and external contacts - Participate in team calls and attend virtual briefings - Prepare meeting materials and provide recaps Ad-hoc Responsibilities: - Conduct research for other programs as needed - Create educational materials for the field on priority areas such as compliance and waste management - Coordinate information gathering across teams for departmental requests - Experience with Microsoft Office is a plus Environmental Services Projects: - Conduct a comprehensive regulatory review to support proactive launches of Torque, a new product - Complete desktop audits of Torque processes to inform policy and process development - Analyze pricing of environmental vendors to identify cost-saving opportunities - Expand on water stress analysis to reduce water risk in facilities - Work with sourcing team to develop a strategy for increasing renewable energy purchasing Requirements: - Commit to 8 weeks virtually, with potential for in-person meetings if local to Miami HQ - Be a resourceful team player and able to adapt to different situations and people - Must have completed at least four semesters of college and be currently enrolled in a degree program in Finance or Accounting Preferred Skills and Experience: - Knowledge or courses taken in the relevant discipline - Member of school clubs - Comfortable with public speaking - Ability to quickly learn new technologies Salary Information: - Salary is determined based on internal equity, salary ranges, market data, skills, experience, and relevant degrees or certifications - The hourly rate for this position is $18 Benefits: - Comprehensive health and welfare benefits, including medical, prescription, dental, vision, life and disability insurance options - Paid time off for vacation, illness, bereavement, family and parental leave - Tax-advantaged 401(k) retirement savings plan Ryder is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug-Free Workplace.
