H1: 2024 Summer Intern (Legal) - REMOTE H2: Join Ryder as a Summer Legal Intern Ryder, a leading transportation and logistics company, is currently seeking talented and motivated students for our Summer Internship program. This remote internship opportunity offers students the chance to apply their knowledge to real-world projects, gain valuable experience, and develop essential skills for their future careers. Job Title: 2024 Summer Legal Intern (REMOTE) Job Category: Internship Location: Remote (work from home) Salary: $18/hour Duration: 8 weeks (with potential for in-person meetings) Responsibilities: - Conduct research, track and compile policy, sustainability, and industry/association items - Manage correspondence and intake for sustainability and customer requests - Assist with ESG requests/questionnaires and record keeping - Participate in team calls and attend virtual briefings - Prepare meeting materials and provide recaps - Complete ad-hoc responsibilities as needed, such as conducting research and creating educational materials Possible Projects: - Conduct a comprehensive regulatory review to support Torque launches - Complete desktop audits of Torque processes to inform policy and process development - Analyze environmental vendor pricing to identify cost savings opportunities - Expand on water stress area analysis and develop a plan for reducing water risk - Work with Sourcing to increase renewable energy purchasing Requirements: - Must be able to commit to 8 weeks virtually, with potential for in-person meetings if local to Miami HQ - Currently enrolled in college or university with at least four semesters completed - Pursuing a degree in Finance or Accounting - Resourceful team player with the ability to adapt to different situations and people - Comfortable with public speaking and able to quickly learn new technologies Preferred Skills and Experience: - Knowledge or courses taken in the relevant discipline - Member of school club(s) - Comfortable with public speaking - Ability to quickly learn new technologies Benefits: - Competitive salary based on internal equity, market data, and applicant's skills and experience - Comprehensive health and welfare benefits, including medical, prescription, dental, vision, life and disability insurance options - Paid time off for vacation, illness, bereavement, family and parental leave - Tax-advantaged 401(k) retirement savings plan At Ryder, we are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug-Free Workplace.
