SUMMARY:

The Ryder Summer Internship program offers students the opportunity to apply their knowledge to real-world projects, develop essential business skills, and gain a corporate understanding of how each department contributes to the overall organization. The Legal intern will primarily focus on researching and compiling policy and industry information, managing correspondence and requests, and participating in team calls and meetings. Ad-hoc responsibilities may include conducting research and creating educational materials. This is a remote position that requires a commitment of 8 weeks, with potential for in-person meetings if local to Miami HQ. The hourly rate for this internship is $18 an hour and includes comprehensive health and welfare benefits, as well as a 401(k) retirement savings plan. JOB TITLE: Legal Intern (Remote) - Ryder Summer Internship Program

DEPARTMENT: Legal

SALARY: $18/hour, comprehensive benefits and 401(k) retirement savings plan included

LOCATION: Remote (with potential for in-person meetings if local to Miami HQ)

EXPERIENCE: At least four semesters completed in college or university curriculum

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Research, track, and compile policy, sustainability, and industry/association items
- Manage correspondence and requests, including **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** and ESG requests/questionnaires
- Participate in team calls and attend virtual briefings
- Prepare meeting materials and provide recaps for internal/external briefings
- Conduct research for other programs and create educational materials
- Coordinate information gathering for department requests
- Experience with Microsoft Office is a plus

AD-HOC RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Conduct state-by-state regulatory review to support Torque launches proactively
- Complete desktop audits of Torque processes pending to inform policy and process development
- Analyze pricing of environmental vendors and identify cost savings opportunities
- Expand on water stress area analysis and develop a plan for reducing water risk
- Work with Sourcing to increase renewable energy purchasing
- Other responsibilities as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

- Commitment of 8 weeks virtually, with potential for in-person meetings if local to Miami HQ
- Resourceful team player with the ability to manage ambiguity and adapt to different situations and people
- Currently enrolled in a Finance or Accounting degree program
- Member of school clubs and comfortable with public speaking
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Knowledge or courses taken in the area of discipline
- Comfortable with public speaking
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies
