Corporate Counsel
Webster, TX Corporate Counsel Job Summary: Position: Corporate Counsel Company: U.S. LawShield Location: Webster, TX Job Type: Full Time Experience: 0-3 years Are you a dedicated and meticulous attorney looking to join a company that values protecting the rights of responsible self-defenders? U.S. LawShield, the nation's largest Legal Defense for Self Defense® organization, is seeking a Corporate Counsel to join our team. This position reports to the General Counsel and offers the opportunity to work with other in-house attorneys and external counsel, while providing guidance to various departments within the company. Responsibilities: • Draft and review legal documents for a variety of purposes • Provide legal advice to minimize risks and advance business goals • Assist with compliance-related matters and claims management • Review promotional material for legal accuracy and provide disclaimers as needed • Ensure compliance for all company promotions, campaigns, and giveaways • Monitor and assist with individual licensing across multiple states • Conduct legal research for company projects • Respond to members' coverage questions • Collaborate with multiple departments to complete projects Requirements: • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution • Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and in good standing • Excellent academic credentials • 0-3 years of practice experience • Prior in-house counsel or private practice experience at a law firm preferred • Strong written and oral communication skills • Ability to work with all levels of management • Organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills • Proficient in MS Office Suite and ability to learn new software • Attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills Salary and Benefits: • $100,000 - $110,000 annually • Medical, dental, vision, and additional supplemental coverage options • 15 days of PTO per year, with accrual for additional tenure • 12 Paid Holidays • 401(k) retirement plan • Complimentary U.S. LawShield membership • Employee Assistance Program with travel protection, counseling, and medical bill saver program To apply, please submit your resume, cover letter, and a legal writing sample.
