Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Summary

The Litigation Associate Attorney will handle all aspects of litigation from case inception through trial or resolution. This includes conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents, conducting discovery, and appearing in court. The ideal candidate will have experience in insurance defense and be licensed to practice in North Carolina.

Responsibilities

Conduct legal research and analysis on various insurance defense matters
Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
Conduct discovery, including depositions and written discovery requests
Prepare for and attend court hearings and trials
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in the case
Manage a caseload and meet all deadlines
Work collaboratively with other attorneys and support staff
Attend continuing legal education seminars to stay current on legal trends and developments

Qualifications

Must be licensed to practice law in North Carolina
2 years of litigation experience preferred
Prior experience in insurance defense highly encouraged
Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
Ability to work independently and manage a caseload
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines
Computer proficiency and experience with legal research databases

Salary Information
