Law Firm Seeking Senior Data Analyst (Pay Equity): Job Description, Salary Information, and Experience Requirements

Are you an experienced data analyst looking for a challenging and rewarding career opportunity? Ogletree Deakins, one of the largest labor and employment law firms in the United States, is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our Data Analytics team and provide support for our Pay Equity practice group.

Position Summary
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will be responsible for providing internal and client facing analytic and data visualization solutions. This includes developing processes and techniques to extract data from various sources, analyzing the data, and creating descriptive and statistical reports. This position requires prior experience providing statistical support in the employment litigation context.

Essential Functions
• Perform analysis related to various employment-specific project types, such as pay equity, reduction-in-force, employment discrimination, and more
• Extract and convert raw data into structured files, verify data integrity, and run preliminary descriptive analyses
• Manipulate, clean, and analyze data using tools such as R, Excel, and other software
• Create dashboards and data visualizations to drive insights and tell the story of the analysis
• Develop and document processes and techniques for data extraction, cleaning, and analysis
• Explain complex analysis and processes to non-technical audiences
• Collaborate with attorneys, clients, and other stakeholders to create data-driven solutions
• Proactively explore data for relationships and value using descriptive and statistical techniques
• Manage projects and work independently to meet deadlines and keep stakeholders informed
• Assist team members as needed to ensure high-quality work is consistently delivered
• Identify and implement process improvements

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative field; Master's degree preferred
• At least 3 years of experience as a data analyst or business data analyst in employment litigation, including class action, discrimination, wage and hour, and pay equity cases
• Strong skills in statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (such as R, SAS, STATA, SPSS)
• Experience with data extraction, analysis, and interpretation in various forms
• Interest in learning R, Tableau, Power BI, or other data visualization platforms
• Expert-level Excel skills and familiarity with MS Office suite
• Knowledge of SQL and ability to query databases
• Comfortable interacting with attorneys and clients and presenting analysis results
• Ability to explain complex analysis and processes to non-technical audiences
• Self-starter with the ability to work remotely and independently
• Strong teamwork, customer service, and multitasking skills
• Familiarity with Agile project management
• Initiative and problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement
• Interest in technology and ability to learn new platforms quickly

Benefits
In accordance with state laws, the expected salary range for this position is between $82,000 and $134,000, depending on experience and geographic location.
