With locations in the United States and United Kingdom, this is a remote, full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package. The successful candidate will have experience in the fintech and software industry and be a member of at least one U.S. state bar. The Associate Counsel will work closely with the General Counsel and other legal team members to provide regulatory and compliance support to the business. They will serve as a trusted advisor to product and functional teams, ensuring that products, services, and business applications align with global data privacy and security regulations and compliance requirements. This role requires someone who is agile, self-sufficient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct research and provide legal advice on a range of legal, regulatory, and compliance areas - Manage company licenses and future licensure projects - Work with the Privacy and Info Sec departments to provide assistance on privacy and data security issues - Collaborate with product and business teams to identify potential privacy risks and provide risk-mitigation counseling - Analyze policies and initiatives to develop privacy risk mitigation strategies for products in multiple jurisdictions - Review, draft, and maintain company policies related to compliance, ethics, anti-bribery and corruption, and data privacy - Manage privacy-related litigation and regulatory matters - Negotiate regulatory and compliance related terms of contracts - Implement and refine the company's compliance processes - Assist with compliance trainings - Provide legal support for other matters as needed Qualifications: - Fully licensed to practice law and a member of at least one U.S. state bar - Bachelor's degree and Law degree from an accredited law school - 3-5 years of relevant experience in compliance and data privacy - Experience in drafting and negotiating contracts - Strong ethics and integrity - Excellent research, analytical, organizational, and communication skills - Interest in fintech, payments, SaaS products, and the health & fitness industry - Basic knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office Benefits: - Open PTO policy - Days of Disconnect - quarterly day off for all employees - Parental & Pawternity Leave - Fitness Perk - quarterly reimbursement for fitness expenses - Discounts with partner companies - Medical/Dental/Vision coverage - EAP - employee assistance program - Calm App 4 subscription - And more!
