Job Summary: The Senior Risk & Compliance Officer will report to a Risk Advisor and work on a roster to provide support to a later shift (2pm – 10pm) to cover time zones Monday to Friday. The role will primarily focus on conflict management, including managing higher risk conflict queries, liaising with other Norton Rose Fulbright offices, and providing training and assistance to officers in resolving conflict issues. The role will also involve work in areas such as anti-money laundering, sanctions, and risk analysis. Key Responsibilities: - Manage higher risk conflict queries and provide recommendations to senior management - Liaise with and assist other Norton Rose Fulbright offices in managing potential conflicts - Provide training and support to officers in resolving conflict issues - Act as a point of escalation for risk and compliance officers and provide recommendations and advice on key risk issues - Stay updated on policy changes and communicate them to risk and compliance officers - Ensure compliance with regulations and carry out research on companies to assess risk - Analyze risk assessments on clients and matters, including those in high-risk jurisdictions - Provide training and assistance to officers in navigating and using the firm's global conflicts database - Draft clear and concise written and oral communication - Exhibit sound commercial and risk judgment - Have a strong interest in risk and compliance and stay informed on commercial, political, and risk issues affecting the business - Have at least 2 years of experience in a compliance or legal function - Hold a law degree or other relevant qualifications (desirable) Skills and Experience: - Strong interest in risk and compliance with knowledge of commercial, political, and risk issues - Excellent research skills and familiarity with online research tools - Strong written and oral communication skills - Sound commercial and risk judgment - At least 2 years of experience in a compliance or legal function - Law degree or other relevant qualifications (desirable) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: At Norton Rose Fulbright, we value diversity, equity, and inclusion and strive to create an environment where everyone can bring their whole selves to work.
