Adjunct Instructor For Legal Studies

Experience Information: · Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a legal environment required, 6 years preferred. · Teaching experience at a higher educational institution preferred. · 4 years’ experience in a substantive area of legal practice preferred. **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW*** is seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor for Legal Studies to join our esteemed School of Social Sciences. This is a part-time, exempt position with a flexible teaching load of 3 to 9 credit hours per semester. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Master of Library Science-Law or master’s in legal studies/Paralegal Studies, with a JD or terminal degree preferred. The successful candidate will also have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a legal environment, with 6 years preferred. Teaching experience at a higher educational institution is also preferred. In addition to teaching legal studies coursework in an online setting, the Adjunct Instructor will be responsible for conducting program and class assessments and maintaining annual professional development. The ideal candidate will also have a strong commitment to professional development, strong work ethics, and the ability to work well with others. Key Responsibilities: · Teach legal studies coursework in an online setting. · Conduct program and class assessments in accordance with University standards. · Maintain annual professional development according to personal and professional needs. · Other duties as assigned. Position Requirements: · Minimum of a Master of Library Science-Law or master’s in legal studies/Paralegal Studies is required. · JD or terminal degree is preferred. · Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a legal environment is required, 6 years preferred. · Teaching experience at a higher educational institution is preferred. · Demonstrated commitment to professional development, strong work ethics, and a commitment to working well with others. Additional Preferred Qualifications: · 4 years’ experience in a substantive area of legal practice. · Academic publications related to a specific substantive area may be substituted for 1 year of demonstrated experience. · Experience working with paralegals. · Online teaching experience. Work Schedule: This is a part-time position, which begins immediately and will continue based on the needs of the program. Adjunct positions will remain open until filled.
