Responsibilities of a Workers’ Compensation Legal Assistant As a Workers’ Compensation Legal Assistant, you will work closely with attorneys and paralegals to assist individuals who have been injured on the job. Your responsibilities will include reviewing, sorting, and scanning incoming mail into an electronic database, requesting medical records from providers, initiating and returning phone calls to clients, scheduling phone appointments for attorneys, and drafting letters for attorney review. You will also be expected to follow up on paperwork from clients and assist with other administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications for the Workers’ Compensation Legal Assistant Position To be considered for this position, you must have a strong knowledge of PC applications, Windows, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also required, as well as exceptional phone etiquette and comfort speaking on the phone. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task. Previous experience in workers’ compensation is helpful but not required.
